Point 7

Recalling Past Life While Tilling the Soil

"Recalling past life while tilling the soil"

While tilling the soil, Khun Yai kept her mind at the center of her body in the middle of the Dhammakaya to recall the past.

One day in the afternoon, Luang Por Dattajeewo walked by Khun Yai’s residence and saw her tilling the soil around the trees. So, he walked in and stood at a distance behind her to observe for about 4-5 minutes. When Khun Yai looked up from her work, Luang Por Dattajeewo asked:

“Khun Yai, you are rather old; Isn’t it tiring to till the soil for so many trees?”

Khun Yai replied, “I’m not tired. I keep my mind focused at the center of the body while doing my work, so it’s not tiring.”

Luang Por then asked, “Khun Yai, what do you focus on?”

“While tilling the soil, I keep my mind at the center of the body in the middle of the Dhammakaya to recall the past to see how Buddhas pursued Perfections such that I can improve and correct my actions to follow in their footsteps.”
