Like a Puppet
I think about death, so I have made merit by offering robes and alms. I think that time does not wait – day after day, night after night, tomorrow, I don’t know when I will die. I quickly make merit to carry with me.
When people die, they can’t take anything with them. They can only take their merit and demerit. People are like puppets – merit and demerit manipulate them. Do good, merit pulls them. Do evil, demerit pulls them.
